October is Non-GMO Month, so the timing couldn't be better to share the news that we've just completed our application for a rare Non-GMO Project Verification.
The application took months of rigorous research and documentation, but we feel its important to provide peace of mind to our consumers, who are increasingly alarmed by the implications of genetically modified organisms on both our bodies and our planet.
The independent verification process is administered through The Non-GMO Project, a non-profit group with a vision that “everyone deserves an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms.”
Wise Bites shares that vision. We've only ever used the highest quality, ingredients for our healthy versions of classic home-baked treats, which are made with quinoa flour and sweetened with date paste. We've been sourcing GMO-free ingredients from the start, so getting this certification seemed like the logical next step.
The Non-GMO Project is the only organization offering independent verification of testing and GMO controls for products in the U.S. and Canada. “Buying products that are verified by our program is the best way to support the sustained availability of non-GMO choices in North America," says the organization's website.
We're excited to get this important designation, adding to our product line’s official Gluten-Free, Vegan and Kosher certifications.
Wise Bites cookies, muffins and bars are made in a dedicated factory free of gluten, egg, dairy, soy, fish, shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts.
